Pilates and Body Movement

Indulgence for body and mind

Our obsession for pilates/body movement came about when our Principle chiropractor was living overseas. He wasn’t able to find a chiropractor in the area he was living so signed up to pilates classes and fell in love. It was thru this movement that he regained his love for how our body moves. Well can and should move.

Developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany it is now practiced all over the world with over 14000 practitioners in the USA alone. If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

Pilates is typically done with no equipment on a matt. This is called Matt Class. We also utilise equipment such as exercise balls, magic circles, chi balls, thera bands, foam rollers, balance boards and weights all to enhance and strengthen.

Our movement classes consist of Yoga, Stick mobility, Reformer, circuits, Barr and weights.

We keep our numbers low to allow you get to the most out of each class. Our reformer class has a maximum of 4 people to it.

Our current classes on offer are:

  • Matt Pilates
  • Functional Pilates (equipment used)
  • Barre
  • Yoga
  • Reformer

We offer a one on one introductory class. You will meet one of our Pilates/body movement therapist. Here they will help you with your goals. Asses your body movements and restrictions. Teach you some basic moves and fit you into class that will best suit your level.

“If you want to relax, watch the clouds pass by if you’re laying on the grass, or sit in front of the creek; just doing nothing and having those still moments is what really rejuvenates the body…”.
